home tour // our bedroom

bedroom
luke and i are finally settling into our new apartment. one of my favorite things about moving is the unpacking and organizing. i find it so relaxing to arrange and rearrange everything until every last thing has a home where it fits. i can't tell you how many times i've rearranged the kitchen cabinets, the bathroom closet, and even the contents of my dresser drawers. you just know when you've put something where it belongs. it feels right. oh, you mean i'm the only crazy person that does that?

as we're getting rooms finished up, i'm going to be doing a few different post giving a home tour! (sorry it took so long, mom! love you!) today i'll show off my severely mediocre design skills in the bedroom. my favorite room.

this picture is one that my grandma painted, and i've been telling her since i was a little kid that someday i wanted it. it always hung in her entryway, and was the first thing to greet you when you walked in. she finally decided i could have it, and i knew it needed a home where it was seen all the time. i think it adds just the right amount of color to our white bedroom walls.

an antique beer can that belonged to my dad. luke was quite giddy when my dad gifted it to us. he proudly displays it on his night stand.

i got this idea from elsie's blog, but rather than using paint samples, i opted for vintage postcards to display jewelry.

we collected quite a large number of mason jars for our wedding, so you'll find them all around our home being used for storage. they work quite well for nail polish, and while they're busy being useful, they're also looking cute!
