big decisions.

In June, as most of you know, I will become a Mrs. I couldn't be more excited about it, and I cannot wait to spend the rest of my life with my Luke. Following the wedding, there will be huge changes coming. Luke has been applying to grad schools all over the nation, and has been accepted to several already. We are overcome with excitement, but at the same time, we're so nervous that we'll make the wrong choice. The hardest part is that each location has it's pros & cons. We just don't want to end up living somewhere that isn't a good fit for us.

So, I've put together a list of the places that we are considering, and I'm hoping that it will help me accomplish a few things. One, I'll have all of pros & cons in front of me. Two, if any of you have any feedback (pros & cons) of each area, let me know! We've only been to a few of the places listed, but will hopefully get a chance to visit each soon. Here goes!

1. Baton Rouge, Louisiana // I've been to Louisiana one time...7 years ago. I'm going to be completely honest and up front. Being someone who was raised in the northern part of the country, I'm a wee bit nervous about moving that far south of the Mason Dixon line. The only knowledge I have of the south comes from television. I'm a little nervous that the only shows based in the south have titles such as "Mudcats," "Cajun Pawn Stars," & "something about Hoggin'." You guys, there are wild & feral hogs in the south. They terrorize old ladies. Ok, back to reality, these are things I joke about, and I'm not trying to be offensive. I'm sure that there are several pros to living in Louisiana. It's warm there, we can go to New Orleans, oh crap...gators. Someone talk me down. Out of all the places we're considering, Baton Rough would be the biggest culture shock. However, I'm positive that we would grow to love it.

2. Morgantown, West Virginia // After visiting Morgantown last month, Luke and I already know that we would love living there. It's at the cusp of the Appalachian Mountains (though the movie Deliverance does pop into mind), and just beautiful. The weather is somewhat similar to Minnesota, but with less snow, which I could definitely grow to love. The biggest pro that I see when I think of living in Morgantown, is that it is centrally located to several places on the eastern coast. (4 hrs from D.C., 5 to NYC, etc. - can you tell I've been doing my research?) The biggest con is that we'd be so far away from both of our families.

3. Boulder, Colorado // We've been here a million times. My sister lives there. My parents live 30 minutes from there. The weather is beautiful. The mountains are beautiful. The culture in Boulder is one-of-a-kind, and we are familiar with the area, which would be convenient and easy. We'd have friends and family there. As I write this, almost every bone in my body says to move here...except my adventure bone (yes, I did just make that up...no judging). Though there are many things we haven't done in Colorado, there are even more experiences we could have in both LA and WV. (Luke is still waiting to hear back from CU, though if he is accepted, it would definitely be on our list.)

4. Buffalo, New York // I know absolutely nothing about Buffalo, NY except for these two things: buffalo wings (my favorite) were created here & it snows a sh*t ton. We've also discovered that it is very affordable to buy a home in the area, which is a major bonus. Luke will be taking a trip here without me at the end of the month while I'm in California with my family. I trust him to form a decision and opinion about the area. Oh, and it is also very close to Niagara Falls, which is beautiful.

So, here's where you come in. Have any of you been to any of these places? Have you/do you live in the regions? Do you love/hate it? I want your feedback!

xo, Eden
