i may or may not be sort of an on-again off-again health nut. i was a vegetarian for a year, and failed last summer when all of my friends were at the cabin grilling burgers and hot dogs. i looked down at my boca burger on the grill next to all the meaty, juicy burgers, and failed. i think i ate a record number of burgers and hot dogs that weekend.
slowly, but surely i started incorporating meat back in to my diet. that was the beginning of a very hypocritical year of eating for me. i knew about the food industry using ammonia to clean our feces-infested meat. i knew about the effects of pesticides on my health. i knew about the cruel treatment of the animals that i was eating. i knew, and i did it all anyways. and guess what, i gained 10 pounds in that year. in that year of fast food, and junk, and poor health choices.
after realizing that i needed to lose just a few pounds to fit into my wedding dress for my upcoming wedding, i started doing a little bit of research about food again. i started buying fruits and vegetables, cutting out meat, and overall just eating healthier. i also started exercising. biking. running. strength training. and i feel great.
cut to yesterday. a good friend of mine who is a personal trainer/health nut suggested that i watch the film "fat, sick, and nearly dead." you guys, it was so good. i cried happy tears. and you know what else? i am a firm believer in juicing now. i won't go into more because you won't believe it until you see it. go watch it. it's on netflix or you can watch it online here. go!
have any of you ever watched the film? do you juice? :)

p.s. luke if you reading this, this juicer would make an awesomeeeeee early birthday present. ;)
