fitness monday // randomness

i've been trying to get better at being consistent here on the blog, but sometimes life just gets in the way! since, it's monday, i thought i'd bring back the used-to-be-regular-but-now-very-sparse fitness monday! as i mentioned in my juicing post, i've been focusing all of my energy into getting fit for my wedding. (48 days...holy shit!) so, i've compiled a list of things i've been loving all related to getting fit and being healthy!
1. kettlebells// i have fallen head over heels for kettlebell workouts. last year, luke bought me kettleworx, which is an at home program that uses cardio/strength training together to burn fat. (it burns in the best way ever, plus you get a laugh at the trainer...he's a little cheesy) kettlebells are also perfect for anyone who wants to tone without gaining bulky muscle. i love love love it. if you don't have a kettlebell, you can get them at target/walmart for fairly cheap, and most will come with a beginner dvd so you can give it a shot!

2. eas lean 15 protein powder// i picked this up at target for my post-workout meal. it's perfect for when i'm done working out and can't even think about eating a full meal, but still gets me the nutrients that i need to feel energized. it doesn't hurt that it's chocolate fudge flavored...definitely feeds my sweet tooth.

3. water water water// it's good for you. period.

4. skinny bitch: ultimate everyday cookbook// you guys, i have a lot of cookbooks. wanna know how many i use on a regular basis? one. this one. it is so great. the recipes feel fancy, but aren't. once you buy the ingredients for one recipe they basically work for several (spices/oils/flours/etc.) it's a vegan cookbook, though even my meat-lovin' fiance loves everything i've made out of this cookbook. especially the yam and black bean tacos and black bean enchiladas. yummmm.

5. fruits&veggies// i have been really good about having fresh fruits and veggies rinsed, cut up, and ready to eat in the fridge so that when i'm feeling hungry they are there to grab as a quick snack. i've been especially loving berries lately. yay for antioxidants!

6. myfitnesspal.com// this website has saved me from my bad eating habits. i'm not one that usually counts calories, and i don't know if i'd always use this website, but for now it has helped me realize how much i'm eating, and what exactly i'm putting into my body. it allows you to search/scan/or manually enter in what you eat throughout the day, as well as allows you to log your exercising. it has been a lifesaver!

7. pump up the jams// music is a huge motivator for me. the right song can push me beyond when my body feels like shutting down. it has helped me learn to appreciate the things that running can do for my body. believe me i was an avid-anti-running-advocate. seriously, ask anyone who knows me. i hate running, but lately after a run i feel good, and i know it's doing my body good. my music tastes aren't the same as everyones, but some artists that push me through and keep me pumped up are green day, black eyed peas, and rihanna. what are some songs/artists that help you push through?

now, please note that i am absolutely not a doctor. these are just some things that have helped me and that i've been loving as of lately. i am always looking for new things to love. what are some snacks/songs/foods/exercises that you've been loving?
