So, after a few weeks of testing out different exercises, I had an epiphany. A pilates epiphany. You guys, I am ob-freaking-sessed. No joke. I do it everyday. EVERY SINGLE DAY. It is the best workout I have ever done, and after a week, I can already see results in my core, thighs, and booty. I think my favorite thing about it is that it feels good. It's painful, but it is the best kind of pain. It stretches, helps with posture, and is actually kind of calming. I can't stop. I've become a pilatesaholic. I've already researched pilates studios in Morgantown, WV (our new home starting in July/August). My friends are all sick of hearing about it. I've become a walking pilates infomercial.
So today for Fitness Monday, I've put together a list of my favorite pilates things, and a few things on my pilates wishlist. (Yes, I have a pilates wishlist.) I'll also list a few of my favorite pilates blogs at the bottom!
1. Gaiam 3mm Yoga Mat // The first few times I gave pilates a try, I did it on the carpet in the living room. No yoga mat = Rug burns = OUCH.
2. C9 by Champion Sports Bra // I don't know about you guys, but I'd rather spend the big bucks on cute clothing, not my fitness clothing. This bra was $12 at Target. Get it. Though I will say, I'm not rockin' amazing tatas like many of you may be, so this is definitely more for the chest-less girl...like me.
3. Crunch Pick Your Spot Pilates DVD // Y'all this is on Netflix. What a great way to give it a try! It's 3 ten-minute segments working on different body parts. AKA the trouble zones (butts, core, thighs). I love it.
4. C9 by Champion Leggings // Love these. They're reversible. They're comfy. They make your booty look dayummmmm good. Just sayin. I live in them. I think I may buy another pair.
5. Mari Winsor Pilates DVD // Mari Winsor is the pilates wonderwoman. She works with celebs. Guys, I have kind of an embarrassing thing to admit. Miley Cyrus' new bod is rockin'...and it's all because of Mari Winsor pilates. She may or may not be my fitness inspiration. I know...it's shameful. I completely understand if you feel the need to stop following me at this point in time.
Here's a great pilates blogs if you're looking for inspiration!
- Blogilates // This blog is great. She's energetic, and posts workouts regularly!
Have any of you tried pilates? Do you do it regularly? What's your favorite exercise routine?
