the santa monica pier was one of my favorites, and the day we visited was by far the warmest. i even got a little pink in the face and neck! we stopped at the pier and walked up and down venice beach, which was by far the most interesting place we visited. we saw the typical things you see at venice beach, body builders, musicians with headsets trying to get you to buy their cds, surfers, bikers, and people selling their doctoral services to get you a green card. just a little too weird for me (what am i saying? boulder colorado is weird and i love it!), but the beach was beautiful. we put our feet in the pacific and the sand and water felt wonderful, a tad cold, but wonderful nonetheless.
