when luke and i drove across the pennsylvania/west virginia border on our way to morgantown, we promised each other that we would not fall in love with this town. we had to remind each other that the whole reason for this road trip was so that luke could interview for grad school at wvu. we didn't even know if he'd get in...we still haven't heard.
unfortunately, the second that we drove into morgantown we loved it. it consists of a perfect combination of old and new. the university is completely intertwined with the town, and despite being a pretty large city, it has that small town feel. another thing that we noticed immediately is that everyone is so friendly! people said hi to each other just up and down the streets, and went out of their way to help us find our way. though we were only able to spend about a day in morgantown before we took off again, luke had some wonderful tour guides from the school show him around. they told us about a few places to check out before we left town.
i was a pretty naughty blogger on this trip and really didn't take a whole lot of pictures...ok, to be honest i took 18 pictures total round trip. oops. i did manage to snap a few of the town and campus for our friends and family to see.
so, though we are keeping our minds open about where we will be living in the fall, we could definitely see ourselves living and making morgantown our home.
xox, eden
p.s. the school put us up in a beautiful and historic hotel called the hotel morgan. it was absolutely beautiful, and in the heart of downtown morgantown. so lovely. we had a quiet (and exhausting) valentine's day, most of which was spent finishing our drive to west virginia. we ate at the hotel's rooftop restaurant, the montmartre. it was a pretty fancy place. i ate the world's most delicious blackened chicken fettucini alfredo. yummm.
