Fitness Monday!

This week I decided I was going to focus on motivation. We all struggle with motivating ourselves to workout. These are a few things that help me stay motivated!!

1. Give yourself a goal to look forward to. For me recently it has been my trip to Mexico, and afterwards it will be for summer. Who doesn't want to be ready for the beach!?

2. Buy your swimsuit now! When I went swimsuit shopping, I wasn't completely happy with what I looked like in it, but by seeing that and realizing it, I am able to focus on the areas that I am unhappy with. DON'T bash yourself though! Use this as a positive motivational tool. I am by no means telling you to hate your body! Everyone should love their body because we are all different and unique. It's beautiful!

3. Tear workouts and recipes out of magazines, rather than just putting them in a stack. I've recently started tearing out different routines that I find interesting, and am slowly building a routine that works for my body and strength. I also tear out pictures of my favorite actresses or models to motivate myself.

4. Have an at-home routine ready for you! I have those days where I just don't want to go out at all, and by having a few workout videos available and a few simple workout tools (small weights, a balance ball, resistance band, etc.) can help you keep things fresh. Go to your local library and check out a few workout DVDs to try out. That way you'll know if you like it or not before you spend the money on them! A few of my favorite are "Tae-bo" and "The Biggest Loser: Cardio Max." (Plus, I love Bob from The Biggest Loser. He's fun to look at.)

5. If you are someone who works out early, either before work or class, sleep in your workout clothes! Have a waterbottle ready in the fridge, then you will have absolutely NO excuses not to go! Don't let laziness overcome you. Think about how good you feel after a hard workout!

What do you do to motivate yourself?
