A Beautiful Last Day

Today was a great day. We went to Boulder, one of my absolute favorite places. It's so laid back and relaxing, and not to mention beautiful. The foothills of the Rockies start in Boulder, and it is so beautiful. If you haven't ever been to Boulder...go. We walked along the Pearl Street Mall, listening to one of the locals play saxophone. And to make the day even better, the sun was shining and it was fairly warm.

There is this little shop that sells prints and antique maps and atlases. I make sure to stop in each and every visit. I was looking through one of the old atlases, and I came across an envelope. Inside the envelope was a Western Union telegraph from 1942. I can't remember exactly what it said, but I do remember it was a Birthday telegraph. It made me so happy to find this. I started thinking about who the book used to belong to, and who the telegraph was for. It is so amazing to me that even the smallest telegraph can have so much behind it. Who was this person? Well, whoever they are or were I hope that they had an amazing birthday. :)
