Goals for 2010

I cannot believe that it is almost the end of 2009, let alone the end of a decade! I had an absolutely amazing year, though it did have it's down moments. I'm so excited for this upcoming year! I cannot wait to start my life adventure, and this year brings me one year closer to graduating with my Social Studies Education degree. Every year I make a list of things I would like to accomplish. I'd like to say that I always stick to it, but I would be lying if I did. So, here's to fresh starts and new goals! Here's my list of 2010 goals.

1. Start working out again, preferably 5-6 times a week. At the beginning of the fall semester I was doing excellent, and could see a difference. As the semester progressed, it became increasingly difficult, and I began to slack until, eventually, the gym dropped off of my to-do list. Along with never-ending stacks of homework, I was also working 30+ hours a week. I'm done with excuses, and even if it means I wake up early and go before my classes I will be making time for my health.

2. Keeping on with the topic of health, I'm also going to start eating a more balanced diet. (not like crazy calorie counting or anything, just watching what I eat, and taking moderation seriously.) I'm going to eat breakfast everyday, and I'm going to limit my sugar intake/junk food intake. I want to live a long and healthy life, and these are the first steps to doing so.

3. I'm going to make the dean's list again. I'm going to push myself, and force myself to do all of my readings. That's always the one thing I slack on. I'll do my papers and assignments, but I don't do the required readings. Not anymore. I'm going to get the most out of the money I spend on my education. The more I learn now, the better I will be able to teach my students in the future.

4. Stop going out to eat. My friends/roommates and I go out to eat quite frequently. This not only costs a lot of money, but it is often times incredibly unhealthy. By making a large batch of healthy food at the beginning of the week it will save me time and money, allowing me to pack quick lunches for work, without spending money in the food court. This will also help me stay on track as far as eating healthy food.

I just wanted to say a quick hello to all of my new blog followers! It is so very wonderful to meet all of you! Thanks so much for following me!
